Nicki Minaj had a rough childhood with many struggles but which inspired her to be better and rise above her and her family's problems. Nicki Minaj's father was "a severe drug addict with a long history of violence" and even lit the family's house on fire at one point in an attempt to kill Minaj's mother. These familial issues has helped Minaj fuel her to rise above the life her parents knew and become a strong female figure that her mother wasn't.
